Sportsmetric integration privacy
Effective October 30, 2026. Covers Sports Marketing Analytics: Athlete & Team Popularity | Sportsmetric for Chrome (including page detection in version 1.1.0) and the authenticated MCP discovery service. Earlier manual-only versions do not inspect webpage content.
Purpose and data sent
When you open the toolbar popup or click Detect this page, the extension uses temporary activeTab access and its bundled script to read the current page's title, main heading and bounded structured person/team names. It extracts up to six possible name phrases locally and sends them to sportsmetric.com for profile matching. Candidate extraction can mistake other phrases for names. Do not invoke detection on sensitive pages. Page URLs, full page documents, article bodies and input fields are not sent. Titles and headings are not uploaded as documents, but a short title or heading that looks like a name may itself be sent as a candidate.
When you submit a manual search or change its profile-type filter, the extension sends the name you typed, selected profile type and result limit to sportsmetric.com. Do not enter sensitive personal information. MCP clients additionally supply a Sportsmetric user session for authentication and send the tool arguments you choose to submit; their own privacy policies also apply. Authentication credentials are not included in application request logs.
Sportsmetric processes these requests to return public sports profiles and recorded audience measurements. The server and hosting infrastructure necessarily process network metadata such as IP address and request timing for delivery, security and abuse prevention. API application request logs omit query strings. Rate-limit counters are held temporarily in process memory.
Access limits
Page inspection runs only on invocation, not continuously or in the background. The extension does not read browsing history, full article bodies, form inputs, cookies, contacts, login credentials or Google-account data. It does not modify webpages. No persistent content script, background worker, advertising tracker, extension analytics or local search-history storage is included. Requests omit credentials; no Sportsmetric login is required for the preview.
Remote profile images and links
Profile images may load directly from HTTPS image providers supplied by Sportsmetric, which receive the network information needed to deliver the image. Images are requested without a referrer. Opening a Sportsmetric profile takes you to the website, where its separate site privacy practices apply.
Use and disclosure
This integration uses submitted searches and locally extracted candidate names only to deliver the requested lookup and operate and protect the service. It does not sell user data, use it for advertising, or provide it to data brokers. Necessary hosting and image-delivery providers process requests to provide the service. This statement concerns the integration, not unrelated website services.
Controls and contact
Close or uninstall the extension to stop extension requests. It stores no search history to delete. For privacy questions or requests concerning service records, contact hi@sportsmetric.com. The publisher should review this disclosure and the Chrome Web Store privacy questionnaire before submission.
