Open the extension on a regular webpage to detect names from its title, main heading and structured metadata. Detection can miss names and does not scan the full article body. Chrome blocks access on some pages, including its internal settings and store. If needed, type a name with 2–80 characters, switch between All, Athletes and Teams, or try another spelling. If rate limited, wait before retrying. The preview returns up to ten possible matches without signing in; confirm the sport and team.

Instagram follower counts are recorded observations, not live counts or unique fans. A missing count or observation date is shown as unavailable. For a correction, send the Sportsmetric profile link, the field that looks wrong and a public source supporting the correction. We do not promise coverage for every athlete or team.

The extension preview is separate from the full platform, where some profiles and research features require signing in. If you cannot access your account, email us with the sign-in method you used and the error message. Never send passwords, verification codes, session cookies or API keys.

Version 1.1.0 reads the current page's title, main heading and structured person/team names only when you open the extension or click Detect this page. It sends up to six possible name phrases for matching, or your manual search, with profile type and result limit. It does not send page URLs or full article bodies, read browsing history, store searches in the extension, or run a background worker. Do not invoke it on sensitive pages. Profile images may load from external providers. See the extension privacy policy for processing details; earlier manual-only versions do not inspect pages.
